Everyday Green Smoothie

The secret sauce to living forever

This is the drink I try to have every morning that makes me feel like I've earned a star sticker on the report card of life.

It's in the same family as making your bed the moment you wake up. Once it's done, you move through the day with a quiet sense of having already taken care of yourself.

Cleanup is minimal — low effort, high return. I went down the juicing rabbit hole and never stayed, mostly because I hated washing the forty-two pieces of a juicer. Here everything is blended, not pressed, so the fiber stays too.

I change it constantly depending on what's in my fridge. Don't overthink the list below. It's less about following a recipe to the letter and more about filling a Vitamix with the vegetables and fruit you're drawn to that week — a solid dose of real food, every day.

The Smoothie

Makes enough for four 16 oz glass bottles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 large handfuls spinach
  • 1 large handful dandelion greens
  • 3 stalks celery
  • ½ bulb fennel, chopped
  • ½ red bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ bunch cilantro
  • ½ bunch parsley
  • ½ green apple, chopped
  • ½ pear, chopped
  • 2 baby cucumbers
  • Fresh lemon juice

I like to keep mine in these.

Method

  1. 1.Water first, then fill the Vitamix with the vegetables and fruit. Blend until completely smooth.
  2. 2.Fill the blender close to the top and you'll have enough for about four days.
  3. 3.Pour into glass bottles, add a squeeze of lemon, seal, and refrigerate. Shake each morning. I'll usually add a splash of water so it drinks more like a juice.

See you as we cross the finish line at 150.
