Compliments to the Chef

What are you feeding yourself?

Most people hear lobster too buttery, steak too juicy and think genuine, ironic complaint. I hear how good my meal is allowed to be. The only difference is perspective and who is eating.

Two people can be at the same table with the same claws eating the same butter. One person sends the food back. The other sends their compliments to the chef because they had already decided the evening would be exquisite.

Nothing about the lobster changed. Only the person who ate it.

You never taste the world as it is. You taste it as you are.

Two versions of you can sit at the exact same meal and leave with two entirely different lives. One confirms that even the best things arrive slightly wrong. The other walks away already expecting more greatness. Reality, being the perfect mirror, simply continues the service each of them ordered.

You are always at the table and always ordering something. The only variable is how you experience what is served to you.

The endless buffet of life's possibilities does not run out if you choose to experience it that way. There's no need to reach across with your extendable fork and take from someone else's plate.

I am always sending my best to the kitchen. Not because I am performing gratitude, but because I decided that my life is already perfect. As such, the kitchen never stops delivering.

So what's on your plate?

See you at my table... forks and knives up.
